RABBIT POISON KILLS BIRDS.
Thopoison laid for rabbits in New.South Wales has been, found to destroy' wholesale many of the useful birds. Leading pastoralists' express' their cjnviction that tho decrease in bird life which has resulted from this method of keeping the rabbit in check is very ' largely! responsible for tho greater prevalence of the grasshopper and Dlowfly pests, which have become a great menace to the stock-owner. Just to what extent tho increase in insect fruit pests is duo to tho. same cause, is a subject for' interesting conjecture.
