GOLD RETURNS.
FIGURES FOR AUGUST. The gold returns from tho Dominion last month wero as follow Value.
■ The total export of gold in August of last year was 50,951 ounces, valued at £203,665. The export of silver last month was 116,005 ounces (£11,748), as compared with 152,478 ounces (£15,941) in August, 1907. Tho gold export for the past eight months was 337,319 ounces (£1,334,232), •as compared with 330,787 ounces (£1,322,793) during tho corresponding period of last year— an inoroase in value of £11,439.
