WELLINGTON BOXING ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF THE .COMMITTEE. The committee of the Wellington Boxing Association met last night, Dr. Napier M'Lean presiding. . George Selway asked for a match with the winner of. the Morgan-Thornton contest, or with F. Kerr, at the November tourney. It was decided to inform the writer that the programme for the tourney had been arranged. ■ A permit to hold a tourney on November 1 at the Opera House was received from tho Inspector of Polico. Tho private secretary to His Excellency the Governor intimated that Lord l'lunkot regretted he would be unable to attend tho tourney on Tuesday night. His Excellency .did not expect to be in Wellington that evenin SThe Hawko's Bay Association invited tlia committ-eo to send a team to compete at the provincial championships thcro on October 7 and 8. It was decided to reply that there might be some difficulty in sending a team, as there had beon a lot of travelling already this season. However, tho committee would do its best in the interests of tho association. _ _ . A further communication was received from the Hawko's Bay ■ Association with reference to a matter in dispute between tin committee and tho association, but owing tc the absence of tho regular chairman con., 'sidoration of the contents wa« deferred. •Tho following dfficials were *ppointcd it" connection with tho tourney on Tuesdaj evening: — Referee: Dr. Napier M'Lean; timekeepers: A.
