FEILDING.

A public meeting of those persons interested in getting a telephone exchango installed at Sandon was held in tho Council Chambers on Saturday night. It was decided to send a petition to the Superintendent of Telegraphs asking for tho installation of ha exchange. •

Tho annual report of the Feilding Presbj terian C.hurch rejoioes at tho indication c deepening interest in the highest things, m looks forward with hopo and expectation to greater progress in the now year. Tho roll last year contained 120 for Feilding and 15 for Awahuri; total, 135. Tho present roll number for tho charge 'is 152. A branch of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union was formed in the church, with a membership of 32 ladies. Tho minister (Rev. Geo. Budd) reports having conducted- 24 marriages, 20 baptisms, and 10 funerals. Ho continues to assist in Bible teaching in the public schools.

Miss Stewart, school' teacher at Waiata, has left the servico and intends making a visit to tho Old Country about February next.

A start has been made on tho tolephono extension from Colyton to Waiata. There is going to be a good demand for connections with the telephone service.
