CARROTS RECOMMENDED., ' Tli'e valuo of carrots as a wintor food for pigs has been , proved by a farmer in the' Feilding , district who indulges in mixed farming, (writes our Manawatu correspondent). -Amongst other crops, lie grow a substantial quantity of carrots, and when tho milk season had passed he had a number of young pigs on hand, and these were added to ,by farther purchases until he .acquired quite a. number. /The carrots were carted in, and a fair share supplied to tho pigs, with ,the.:..result that they aro now reauy to be'closed up when the approaching milk seaspn'commences, and a few weeks will find theta; ready for the market. This was. an experiment on the ' part of the farmer/and so'pleased is he at'the result that he con-templates-adopting tho: same system next year. . ;
