■ 1 *- — : . .A meeting of the Trustees of tho Taita Cemetery was .held in'tho Mayor's Room, Pctono. . There wero present Mr. M. Welca (chairman), and Messrs.' J. W. M'Ewan, Wakoham, Nott, and Dr. Harding. A letter received from Rev. M. Jones, Lower Hutt, asking that the caretaker of jaita Cemetery, act as grave-digger for the two_ Churches of England, and tho fees be paid to the Trustees Account. Tho Secrbtary 'reported . that 200 trees ■ (hollies) had been planted between tho two gates. The question of _ keeping tho graves in order was gone into, and it was' carried that the 1 Trustees undertake to keep graves in order at a fixed ■ sum down or so much, per annum. : Tho balance-sheet shows receipts, fees £41, 12s. 9d.; burial account, £40 155.; ana. . bianco froifl last year, £70 14s. 7d. The expenditure was £96 12s. 4d., leaving a credit balance of £59 10s. The question of surveying th« Cemetery was held "over. In connection with local bodies subsidising'ths Trustees, : Mr. JfEwan suggested ..that Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., be asked to get a clause inserted in tho Cemetery Bill to that effect! ( The Trustees wotild be very- gkd to receive shrubs or flowers, etc., for plant - ing. .
