Aftor hearing a mooting at Leeds addressed by New South Wales emigration agents, eighty-fivo shipping agents from all parts of tho kingdom resolved that tho New South Wales system of immigration was satisfactory, and that they would undertako to securo as many rural settlers as New South Wales was prepared to grant assisted passages to. They expressed a hope that the other States would follow the Nov/ South Wales policy. ' SOUTH AUSTRALIAN LOAN. London, August 12. Commenting on the State Treasurer's statement regarding • tho arrangements for the floating of the South Australian loan, "The Times" remarks:—" Certainly, it is questionable whether a saving of nihepence per cent., justified the curious position tho colony was placed in by the non-fulfilment of tho original arrangements."
