WRIGHTS' AEROPLANE IN FRANCE. ANOTHER TRIAL. (by TELEOEiru—rauss association—corrniaHT.) Paris, August ,12. Wright Brothers' aeroplane travelled for 3min. 43sec. at the rate of forty miles an hour.
TRIALS AT LE MANS. To carry out the aeroplane trinls desired by tho French Government, Mr. Wilbur Wright, who arrived in Franco in June, chose theracecourso at Lo Mans, three hours journey by train from _ Paris. In tho meanwhile Mr. Orvillo Wright is pr'epariug in America for the trials which the United States Government have asked for. The aeroplane arrived in France in sections. The racecourse is about half a mile long and 350 yards wide. Tho only disadvautngo is, it is. said, the presence of some clumps of trees, but tho aeroplaniat was confident that he could navigate clear of.these. . There is a fine wi'de race track, with a beautiful sandy surface, running round the ground. Tho track is in somb places 75ft. wide, and should serve admirably as a starting or alighting ground.
A correspondent .of a London paper says:— "Mr. Wright could hardly have chosen a better place for carrying out liis experiments. Here he will have every advantage while reconstructing the aeroplane, as there are several large mechanical establishments and a motor factory in this enterprising town. Ho will have the additional advantage that the ground is situated at a sufficient distance from lo Mans (■*! miles) to prevent any large number of loiterers or curious sightseers crowding the course while the preliminary trials are taking place."
