SACRAMENT REFUSED
DECEASED, WIFE'S SISTER.. (BY TELSGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRI'JI ET.) ... < London, July 23. The Dean of Arches (Sir Lewis Dibdin), has admonished the Rev. Henry Thompson for unlawful action in regard to the Barmister case—namely, refusing to admit a Mr. Barmister and his wife .to the sacrament of communion , because Mr. Barmister had married his deceased wife's sister. The Barmisters wero married in Canada before marriage with a deceased wife's sister had been legalised in England. A previous cablegram stated that Mr. Barmister is manager of the Norwich Electric Tramways, and the Eev. Henry Thompson is honorary canon of Norwich Cathedral and vicar of Eaton, Norwich. " 1
