London, July 2. In county cricket, Lancashire beat Notts by three wickets. Yorkshire has so far lost no match. Surrey, Kent, and Middlesex have one loss each.

Last year Notts won the championship, Worcestershire and Yorkshire] tied for' second place, Surrey was nest,' and then came Middieses. Kent (the champion team of the preceding season) was eighth, being behind Lan-cashire-and Essex.

This is the second time Lancashire'-has beaten Notts this season. A defeat by Middlesex'a few days ago ■ makes :three losses against last year's champions.
