Somo boatmen, without throwing off their clothes, dived in and- rescued Beaurepaire, who recovered. Beaurepaire, not yet sevonteen years of age, is to bo one of Australia's representatives at tho Olympic sports. The other is F. W. Springfield, a distance mall.' The course swum is at least 15 miles. J. A. Jarvis, on August i, 1906, swam seven miles and a quarter, in tho Seine, Paris, in 2hr. 42min.
