FATAL EXPLOSION.
A THEOBY. BT TELEGRAPH —rRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Sydney, Juno 10. No adequate explanation is forthcoming of the premature explosion of ■ powder' at Newcastlo, by which two men who were engaged in destroying the explosive were killed, and two were seriously injured. The men were engaged in emptying thirteen cases of powder into a tronch by tho seashore. The theory is advanced that probably. a shovel used to' open a case struck a spark. , The persons Seriously injured were Mr. Crockett, District Superintendent of Explosives, and a man named Zoppi.
