With its current issue, dated June 15, "Tho New Zealand Schoolmaster" gracefully bids its'patrons adieu. In an explanatory note, it is mentioned that the now defunct journal was started some twenty-two years ago by Mr. Henry Hill, of Napier, and run by a few teachers' and others interested in education. Subsequently lack of sufficient funds endangered its existence. Messrs. Whit'combc and Tombs, Ltd., took over tho management, - but up to'tho present it has been rather a loss to its publishers, although it has undoubtedly dono good servico in the field of education. Tho paper also suiTorod by the fact that ita contemporary was made the official organ of the New Zealand Educa- 1 tional Institute, aud was latterly 'supplied, under special arrangements with the publishers to every member. "The New Zealand Schoolmaster" will be succeeded by a monthly journal "Current Thought," which will appear in AiiL'.U'it next.
