CASES OF THEFT.
Sir,—Tho crimo of thieving : is evidently looked upon as a trilling matter in this city. Tho easo reported in which a sorvant girl stole a valuable diamond ring (value £15) terminated in nothing more serious Julian a reprimand. Even the newspapers, as represented by Tin: Dominion, shcltor tho thief by omitting the name of tho delinquent. I have seen many comments mado upon Justices' justice, but never such an "easy view taken of thieving. It is not worth while trying to get anyone punished for this widespread evil, bocauso it is not considered a serious, crimo in this city,—l am, etc. SUBSCRIBER. June 11. n'iu; Dominion only omits names or convicted offenders in case of a first ofTonce, and when the circumstances appear to warrant it.]
