It is difficult to know what fields of labou will not be opened to the steady advance o women. Only the other day, says th< " Daily Mail," on interesting innovation wa made at the Lav/ Courts when two prett, girls took their places at tho Eolicitors' tabl in 'Mr. Justico Neville's Court. They wer clerks in the employ of a solicitor. Dui ing tho wholo of the time, they paid th utmost attention to the, work in hand, allow ing nothing to distract them, though tho, must have found their first appearance rathe an ordeal. Their employer, was kind enoiig to say that they wero entirely trustworthy not . being': givon to • smoking, drinking, o betting, and while being as intelligent a men (a strange fact) they, conoontrated thei minds more on the business in hand.
