Tiio bazaar, in aid of : the Ramabai .Mission Fund was opened by Lady Ward at the Girls' College last night. Tho Central Hall, familiar to most of tho girls, ipast and present, in its useful severity, was transformed into quite a •brilliant scene .of' oolcur and movement. In fact, owing: to the crowd, it .was. a,-work of art. and patience to mako auy / headway, about the'room', 'when wishing to oxauiine the: work for sale.; The; articles woro well worth going to - see and ■ to" bujr, some of them being ex.quisite. Most'quaint and'fantastic was much of tho! Benares . brass work, .there 1 being candlesticks in the, form of cobras, dragons, I:ttlo' ornamental .trays, bowls of all sorts and sizes,- Burmese ca<rvod and inlaid tables, Kashmir and Bombay .rugs, in wonderful designs of: gold, embroidery, embroidered silken and' muslin £obes, lac'o work; silver' work from Liicknow, hi.fact, 'imaginable' thing. The prices, too, wero most reasonable.' Tho stalls and stall-holderswere as follows: —Indian silk and' embroideries,' Mrs. :Jenness and.Miss Anderson; Benares bronzo work, Miss : Jenness ;■ linen stall, Miss Haiinay ; tea room, Victoria' Q6llsg«' Girls; sweet stall. Old Girls,'Association';.postcards,.Misses Dixon, Howard,'and. Beiider; la'oe.stall, MraY.iM'Glay and Miss Anderson; school stall, Miss'Batham and Miss Dall; : flower.'stall, Misses •N/Chapplej'jShirtcliffo; Tab'utea'u, and Hawson;. -:' ■ '• -' V ! ' ' During-the ;oraiing'. dances were, givnn by several of Miss Beero's pupils; Miss Lynns I'M wards, did a ' military dance, ill iss Kathleen Speed a Hungarian bell-danco, and ar Old English mimiot was danccd by .Mastei Freddie and Miss Peggy ltccves. Thoro wort also soveral musical items, and an exhibitior of club swinging. .»
