Bruce : M'Landers and Henry Conlon, : against whom there was 0110 conviction each, wore convicted ■ and fined 10s. each,, .in default 4S hours'' imprisonment. . ~ Ernest Paul Sweeney : pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of a tweed overcoat valued 3 - 7 ®; the P r °P ert y of Warnock and Adkin.® Tho accused was remanded until April 27 for sentence. Walter Towea and Frederick J. R. Brazier denied,having used threatening.language in Lambton Quay whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned. The accused were convicted and- discharged on condition that they would return immediately'to their shin Frederick William Jones, alias Judy Jones, was chargcd with having obtained from ono John Bush a Bible, two prayer books, a book of poetry, valued at £2 14s. Gd., and £2 ss. in money by means of false pretences; also with having obtained from one Jacob Morris ono set.of pipes valued at £2 10s., and £2 10s. in money by means of false pretences. Tho. hearing .of the case was postponed until April 29. Jolm M'Nab pleaded not guilty to a cliargo of having habitually consorted .with reputed thieves. Evidence in support of the cliargo was ' given 'by Detectives Broberg and ! Andrews. A sentence of three months' 'was imposed. •'
