Iho first meeting of citizens to consider tho question of entertaining the American fleet is to be held to-morrow afternoon. Up to the present the following suggestions hare been mooted Escort into port by flotilla of steamers and sailers; great official welcome by Parliament and municipality; a visit of the officers and some of the men to Rotorua; a great Maorigatheringiii Victoria Park; a ball in tho Drill Hall; an intcr-provincial football match; a special raco meeting;' ail aquatic, carnival; grand display by school children and cadets; a round of sight-seemg; provision of club-house for sailors; provision of large information bureau for seamen ; arrangements for quickly converting American currency into British; special excursions to places of interest near tho city; presentation of commemorative cards-to each man of tho fleet.; .arrangement of automobile trips. . ..
