QUAETERLY MEETING. The ordinary ' quarterly .meeting of the Teachers' Superannuation Board was hold in tlio Education Department's offices • yoster- ! day, when thero wore presontTlie Minister for Education (Mr, G. JFowlds), the In- , spector-Gencral of Schools (Mr. G. Hogbcn), the Solicitor-General (Mr. 0. Fitchctt), the Secretary'to the Treasury (Colonel Collins), the President of the Now Zealand Education Institute (Mr. Newton), and contributors for the ( North Island (Messrs. Foster and Grundy), and for the South Island (Messrs. Davidson and Hughes). , Pensions were granted in four cases to contributors who had rcached the ago limit. In five cases, pensions were allowed to widows, and allowances wero mado to children until they rcached 14 years of age. Allowances wero granted in two cases whoro the contributors wero shown to be medically, unfit, for further duty. Uefunds of contributions, were granted in i thirty-eight case 3, to mombers who had left the education service. At. March 31 last, thoro wore 2883 mem- i hers of the fund (1436 males and 1447 fc- ! males), and the accumulated funds at credit. wero over £62,000. This sum was interest-bearing as follows£ll,ooo at 5 per cent., £37,100 at 4J per cent., and the i balance, £14,000, at 4 por cent. • .
