MAKARA COUNTY ELECTION.
« There is 110 lack of candidates for the honour of a seat on the first County Council of Makara. l'onr members are to be elected for the I'orirua Riding, and S candidates arc offering, while six gentlemen are competing for the two seats allotted to the Makara Riding. The following; are t.lio names of the candidates;— I'orirua Riding—Messrs. R. Bould, S. Brvant. A. ]). Cole, T. If. Eastwood, 11. llaggerlv. H. .1 .lillett, C. I'. Knight, F. T. Moore. Makara Riding—Messrs. F. It. Hawkins. I'. Hcaly, 11. .1. Monaghau, G. Monk, T. 11. Robinson, \V. 11. Wallace.
The election will take place on Tuesday next. Mr G. Ilislop, of Makara, is the returning officer.
