HARBOUR BOARD ELECTION
Yesterday was the last day of the periad within which it was competent for (he suburban local bodies to appoint the delegates who will participate in the election' of a representative oil the Wellington Harbour Board. The Ilutt County Council lias appointed Mr. W. Welch, and the following will act for the suburban boroughsPetone, Mr. ,1. W. M'Eivan; Lower Ilutt, Mr. W. 11. Russell; Onslow. Mr. R. J. Watson; Eastbourne, Mr. F. G Bolton ;.Miramar, Mr. C. J. Crawford; Karori, Mr. A. G. Smith.. Owing to aii accident of dates the new County of Makara will not obtain representation, l as'its Council does not come , into existence until January 28. The delegates will iiiect at the Ilutt County Council Chambers at 2 o'clock, on February 10, to elect one member of the Harbour Board. Mr. If. T. Atkinson is J lie returning officer. The Hutt district and suburban boroughs are at present represented on the Board by Mr. F. Townsend. Oil the same (late, the ratepayers of Wellington will elect two members of the Board, and one each will be elected by tho Chamber of Commerce, the payers of dues and owners of ships, tlnj .Wairarapa district, and tho, Manawatu district. '
