Lake County Council.

The following business of interest in the Wanaka division of Lake County, transacted at the last meeting of the council : A. Geer, Mt, Albert Station, Maka. rorn, wrote intimating that the sheep bridge over Craigieburn was completed. Writer had a man engaged repairing the Jumbo Land track. Already dealt with.

D 0. Aubrey, Cattle Flat, wrote on behalf of Mr McPherson and himself, asking the Council to do some thing to Mt. Aspiring road. The only way round Nigger Point was to lord the river, and this was not safe. Writer and Mr McPherson had both had losses at this place. If a ditch were dug and a couple of culverts put in, writer would have a fair road up tho side of the river. Some willows wired and dropped over the bank would make the job permanent. Writer was prepared to supply the willows and lend a team for cart ing The Works Committee reported that some work had been done since this letter was written, and they recommended that the expenditure of a larger amount be held over till the receipt of the Estimates.

The Inspector reported that ho had put a man on to clean out the ditches on the Matukituki Valley road. Repairs have been carried out to the Matukituki stock bridge. He had arranged with Mr Cameron at Minaret Station to put a man on to repair the track and cut the fern between Minaret Creek and Minaret Station, also to carry out some repair's to tire wharf at Minaret Bay. lie also arranged with Mr Geer, of Mt. Albert Station, to repair the track between the Albevtburn and Wilkin rivers.—Adopted.

Rtsolved on the motion of Crs Gordon and W. S. R»*id,—That the Council purchase small birds’ eggs and heads at 3d per dozen. Cr Thompson stated that the bathing shed on the beach at Wanaka had been blown up on to the road in a heavy gale and pretty badly damaged. The Inspector and himself had got an estimate of the cost of replacing and repairing it, and this was XI2, He asked the Council to favourably consider the matter. Resolved on the motion of Crs Thompson and Geo. Reid—-That the bathing shed on Lake Wanaka beach at Pembroke bo re.erected, the cost not to exceed Xl 2, —“ Mail,”
