THE TRANSVAAL
The military forces at Cape Town are being held in readiness for any emergency in the Transvaal. In the event of an outbreak of hostilities General Sir Bedvers Buller, Commander of the Forces at Aldershot, will assume supreme command of the troops in South Africa.
Tbe Daily Telegraph states that the Transvaal burghers are being armed by the Boer Executive.
At a meeting of burghers at Clerksdorp, Potcbefestroom, a resolution in favour of further reforms than those already promised by President Kruger was carried.
The Natal Volunteers have been ordered to hold themselves in readiness for any emergency.
