- Fat Cattle.— lso head were yarded, which was quite equal to the demand, Of the9e, about 90 head were disposed of—the remainder being indifferent quality, were turned out. For best quality, late rates were fully maintained, best bullocks realising £9 10s to £11 5s : cows, £6 to £8 7s 6d, or equal to about 26s per lOOlb's for prime, and 23s for medium quality. At the yards Maclean Bros, sold 43 head at above rates, and privately, for forward delivery, placed 62 head. Wright, Stephenson and Co. sold 43 head- Bullocks brought from £8 12s 6d to £14 10s ; cows, from £7 12s 6d to £8 10s; or equal' to 27s per 1001 b for good quality, or 23s for middling ditto. Fat Calves.— Only a few were yarded, which sold at 25s to 45s each. Fat Sheep. About 1600 were penned — a supply considerably beyond trade requirements, hence only about 1000 were sold, the rest being held orer. Good crosßbreds fetchedlss to 18s 6d ; merino, 7s to 13s 6d, or equal to 3id for the former, and 2£d to 2|d for the latter. Maclean Bros, sold 1000 crossbredn, forward delivery, at proportionate rates. Wriajht, Steohenson and Co. sold 350 half-breds, at from 3s 3d to 9s 6d ; 30 merino ewes at 5s 6d to 7s ; 115 merino wethers at 9s. Fat Lambs. — 180 were penned, which were sold at from 6s to 9s. Store Sheep. — There is still a good demand for young merinos and four-tooth half-breds. "We quote half-breds, four-tooth, 12s to 128 fld ; do twotooth, 10a to 11s ; do lambs, 8s ; merino wethers, four and six-tooth, 7s 6d ; do, full-mouthed, 5s 6d [to 6a ; do ewes, two, four, and six-tooth, 8s 6<i ; do, full-mouthed, 3s to 4s 6d. At above rates, Wright, Stephen son and Co. sold 1700 merinos and crossbreds. They also sold 75 Leicester rams at from £2 2s to £5. ■ . • Pure Stock.— Wright, Stephenson and Co. held their annual sale on Monday, sth inst. There was a fair amount of stock yarded, but very few pur- , chasers. They sold 100 Leicester ewes at from £1 2s 6d to £2 2s ; 150 three-quarter-bred do, at £1 2s 6d; 40 pure lambs; 16s ; 210 cross-breds at 10b 3d? rams, at from £1 10s to £4. They also sold 25 Leicester.ewes, full-mouthed, at £3, and 160 crossbreds at 16s. Maclean Bros, sold 30 Lincoln ewes, just landed, ex Mallowdale, from London, at 80 guineas each, for shipment to the North Island.
