Additional Auckland heat
The Auckland Trotting Club have been allocated the additional D.B. ■Draught Fillies’ Heat to be staged this season. The Auckland heat will be one of 10 heats run between February 2 and April 11, with the $130,000 (minimum) final to be run at Addington Raceway on Friday, May 11. In previous years the venue for the final has alternated between Add-
ington and Auckland, but the Group One feature will now be held at Addington for the next three years. After final payments for the 1990 series closed in October, 347 fillies were eligible. Heat winners will automatically qualify for the rich final run at the N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club’s May meeting. Dates for the heats are
as follows: Friday, February 2, Canterbury Park; Monday, February 5, Marlborough; Friday, February 16, Cambridge; Saturday, February 24, Invercargill; Thursday, March 1, Auckland; Friday, March 9, Hororata; Wednesday, March 21, Forbury; Wednesday, March 28, Manawatu; Saturday, March 31, Thames; and Wednesday, April 11, Morrinsville.
