$20,000 bonus for series
A $20,000 bonus will be attached to the DB Draught Three-Year-Old Pacing Series in Otago this season. The bonus will be awarded to a horse winning three of the seven heats and the final. The $20,000 final of the series will be held at Forbury Park on April 21 next year. The bonus has been underwritten by an insurance broker, the premium being shared among the clubs involved in the series. The first of the seven heats is to be run at the Kurow meeting next Monday and the final heat at Roxburgh in April. The move is designed to sustain interset in the series over a nine-month period.
