Methven club records profit
A record profit of $32,579 has been posted by the Methven Trotting Club, up $2364 on the previous year. Stakes paid amounted to $146,452, compared with $131,467 for the previous year, while subsidies amounted to $55,700, up $5700.
The club received an imbursement of $33,937 from the Racing Authority to complete major painting and other necessary maintenance during the season. The Youth Hostel, which was run on the course, was closed down due to lack of patronage. Martin Norqvist replaced Don Anderson as the president, at the club’s annual general meeting last Monday.
