Cross-country team includes Burridge
Dave Burridge (University), who did not compete in the Canterbury cross-country championship last Saturday and has not run in any interclub race in Christchurch in the winter, has been selected to run for Canterbury in the New Zealand championships in New Plymouth on August 12. Burridge’s only outing has been in the pestigious Edmond Cup. in Dunedin last month. He won that and it was significant that the runner-up was Paul Smith (Olympic), the man who won the Canterbury championship at West Eyreton on Saturday. Two veterans, both from the University club, are among those picked in the senior teams. They are Kevin O’Sullivan and Prue Taylor. A former New Zealand senior champion, Eddie Gray (Greymouth), was a disappointing 31st in the senior champion-
ship. The teams are:— Senior men: T. Birnie, D. Burridge, D. Findlay, G. Hardy, C. McDonald, G. McEwen, T. McManus, R. McTaggart, E. Monasterio, R. Mulcahy, K. O’Sullivan, B. Pulley, B. Rattray, W.
