N.Z. sailor wins

New Zealand’s Stuart Bannatyne swept to victory in the Laser class event of the world youth sailing championships in Montreal yesterday. Bannatyne, of Wellington, scored 58.8 net points ahead of the second finisher, from the British Virgin Islands (78 points), and a third-placed Australian (85.4). In the two-man Laser event, New Zealand’s entries, Ramon Davies and Wayne Kemp, finished fourth behind France, Italy, and the United, States. The boardsailor, Robert Vernon, finished eleventh with France, Israel and the United Kingdom taking the first three places.
