Jobless rise of 19,000 forecast

Unemployment is forecast in the Budget to rise this year by 19,000 to an annual average of 158,000 registered unemployed. At the same time, the Government is cutting its funds to Access training, although funding of other employment and training schemes over all has been boosted. The Government clearly is pinning its hopes on future economic growth meaning this year will be the peak of unemployment. Last financial year, the annual average number of registered unemployed
