Moffat Appliances, Ltd, opened its new commercial cooking equipment test kitchen and training centre yesterday. The centre was added to a recent extension to the firm’s factory, in Osborne Street, Woolston, which houses a new assembly shop. The company’s sales coordinator, Mr Stuart Murray, said the centre would be used for training new staff and distributors from local and overseas branches.
Mr Murray said Moffat Appliances, Ltd, was the only manufacturer of heavy-duty catering equipment in New Zealand or Australia with such a facility. It would play a valuable part in developing new products and help the expansion of exports to the United States, Britain and North America. The building was officially opened by the managing director of the Auckland-based Hospitality Group of companies, Mr David Conway.
