Improved air service

Air New Zealand’s services between Christchurch, Napier and Auckland will be upgraded from a Friendship to a Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline yesterday announced that a Boeing service would begin during the Christmas holidays, flying an Auckland, Napier, Christchurch leg in the mornings and returning from Christchurch in the early afternoon. Mr Paul Bowe, Air New Zealand’s southern regional manager, said an increase in passenger demand for the service had encouraged the airline in upgrading the daily flights from the turbo-prop Friendship to the Boeing jet.
