Sir,—l would like to draw your attention to an error in the estimates list on page 3 of your newspaper of July 29, 1988. The list shows a vote of $1714.7M for Works and Development. This sum was, in fact, the amount expended by the Ministry of Works and Development during the 1987-88 year. As you will be aware, the Ministry of Works and Development was disestablished on March 31, 1988. Its public functions were reallocated to a number of Government departments and the residual business functions taken over by the Works and Development Services Corporation (N.Z.), Ltd. Your report gives the impression that the corporation is continuing to receive Government financial support, which it is not.—Yours, etc K. J. THOMPSON, Regional manager. August 1, 1988.
