Deans dazzles

Although he is languishing in the limbo as far as representative rugby is concerned, Robbie Deans is playing outstandingly for his club, Glenmark, in the North Canterbury senior competition. In the last three matches he has scored 79 points, and his goal-kicking has been superb. The former All Black kicked 12 conversions from 15 attempts with a greasy ball in the rain as Glenmark thrashed Ohoka at Omihi last Saturday. His personal tally was 32 points. The previous Saturday he kicked seven goals for. 17 points against Ashley, and a week earlier achieved 13 conversions from 16 attempts, and tallied 30 points, against Southbrook. His form will give the North Canterbury side a strong hand against the Town XV at Oxford this Sunday.
