Architecture of Chch for panel
The future of Christchurch architecture will be the subject of a public meeting at the Canterbury Public Library this evening. Six speakers have been invited to form a panel for the evening’s discussion. They will be Christchurch architects, Messrs Peter Beaven and David Sheppard; the Christchurch City Council’s chief architect, Mr Albert Louman, and the city planner, Mr John Dryden; the president of the Can-
terbury branch of the Historic Places Trust, Mr Ivan Taylor; and a writer for the New Zealand "Home and Building” magazine, Ms Tessa Copland. The discussion will centre on what Christchurch is beginning to look like, and whether that reflects what the people of Christchurch want. The public will be able to ask questions from the floor. The meeting will begin at 7.30 p.m. in the Stringleman Room.
