Identity of man sought
The Christchurch police are trying to establish the identity of a man who approached a librarian in the Canterbury Public Library the day before an eight-year-old girl was assaulted in the library toilets on January 18. The man, described as a European in his mid--203, approaehed a librarian on Sunday, January 17 and placed a book on paedophilia in front of her. He had earlier attempted to find a book on the side-effect of drugs.
The man was described as being of medium to slim build with dark blond hair tied back in a pony tail. He was wearing an earring in his left ear. Although the two incidents may be unconnected, the police are anxious to identify the man.
