Twilight meeting
Queen Elizabeth II Park is not available for athletics next Saturday because of another booking, and the normal inter-club meeting has been brought forward to Wednesday. The meeting will begin at the park at 6 p.m. The last event, a 4 x 100 m relay, is scheduled to begin at 8.55 p.m. Some leading athletes will have the opportunity
for competition on Saturday outside Christchurch. A grand prix meeting is scheduled for Hastings and this will include the New Zealand women’s 5000 m championship. Athletics will return to Queen Elizabeth II Park on February 6, the first day of the main Canterbury championship programme.
