Countback victory

Andrew Hames, and Hayden Prattley, caused the upset of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Club championship when the pair won the JC class from Darryl and Michelle Pender at Lyttelton yesterday. Hames and Prattley started the contest well, by winning the opening two races over the Pender combination who posted a costly third place in the first race, and second placing in race two. However, the Penders came back to win the last two events, but lost on a countback to the Hames combination.
