Man survives with ‘moderate’ injuries
An elderly man escaped with moderate chest injuries when his car was involved in a collision with a truck on Christmas Eve. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital where his condition was described yesterday as fairly comfortable. His
name was unavailable. The accident was about 9.20 a.m. at the corner of Strickland Street and Milton Street. The driver of the truck, which was knocked on its side, escaped injury. The car went through a fence and collided headon with a tree.
