Air battle marked

PA Wellington The forty-seventh anniversary of the Battle of Britain was commemorated by a wreath-laying ceremony at Wellington’s Hall of Memories yesterday.

A wreath was laid on behalf of the British High Commission by Acting High Commissioner, Mr lan Soutar. Other wreaths were laid by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice-Marshal Patrick Neville, on behalf of the R.N.Z.A.F.; Mr Bill White, on behalf of the Hutt Valley Brevet Club; and Mr Harry Irons, on behalf of the Wellington Brevet Club.
