Disabled ski-racing
Snow conditions should be good for ski-racing when the Salomon Disabled Skiers Nationals championships are held at Mount Hutt this week. After two days of race training, the championships are due to begin with the giant slalom today and end with the slalom tomorrow. There will be A and B-grade sections for both disciplines. Friday, the contingency day, has also been set aside for the tenth anniversary
celebrations of the New Zealand Association of Disabled Skiers. About 75 people Have registered for the championships, among them a German and an Austrian. The competitions are especially important this year with the New Zealand Olympic team to be named on Friday evening for the fourth Winter Games for the disabled at Innsbruck, Austria, in January.
