Unemployment
Sir,—When Mr Goff took oven the unemployment portfolio fromMr Burke unemployment was so high that only an improvement, was expected. However, unemployment has deteriorated further and the Government is predicting it to increase another 23 per cent Mr Goff may be a fast talker, but he does not realise that his Government's policies are killing off employment opportunities in those parts of the country which dare to exist outside Auckland and Wellington. Getting the economy right by Rogernomics' standards means prosperity and employment for the economically strong and unemployment and despair for the economically, weak. Labour has betrayed those very workers who voted it into office. — Yours, etc., J. F. GARVEY. , i Westport, July 30, 1987.
