Avoidance of A.I.D.S.

Sir, —Congratulations to the Dean of Sydney, for his stand on the prevention of A.I.D.S. (“Chastity, not condoms,” April 10). It is disappointing that none of his colleagues in New Zealand seems prepared to stand up and be counted on this matter. New Zealand must surely almost lead the world in supplying the “ambulance at the bottom of the hill.” A recalling to the prevention is long overdue, and I hope parents will- show their concern for their children by stressing the wisdom of such standards.— Yours, etc.,

JOAN CAMPBELL. April 14, 1987.
