Minister returns to Cabinet

in Wellington The Minister of Immigration, Mr Burke, returned to Cabinet duties yesterday but with a reduced portfolio of responsibilities. At a meeting of the Executive Council during the afternoon the Gover-nor-General, Sir Paul Reeves, issued new warrants for some Cabinet responsibilities. The Acting Minister of Employment, Mr Goff, now has a warrant as Minister of Employment and the Acting Minister of

Regional Development, Mr Caygill, has a warrant as Minister of Regional Development. Meanwhile, Mr Burke has assumed responsibility as Minister in charge of the Public Trust, of the State Insurance Office, and of the Government Life Insurance Office. The Prime Minister, Mr Lane, said these three new portfolios would not involve Mr Burke travelling outside Wellington at a time when it was necessary he be near his wife, Ms Helen Paske, while she was under medical care.
