Leadership

Sir,—Congratulations to Mr Pat Morrison, chairman of the Wool Board, for his comments (February 27) relating to the growing importance to New Zealand of farm exporting. He acknowledged the current difficult circumstances resulting from Government policies, but did not despair. He showed true industrial leadership, confidence in the rural community, and saw the close relationship that should, and could, exist between town and country. Why is Mr Morrison not standing for Parliament? His like are few and far between. Parliament lacks men and women of his calibre. With Mr Morrison and others like him in Parliament, New Zealand would soon overcome her difficulties, and again become a country where responsible, caring people are proud to live. — Yours, etc., A. J. MILLER. Hororata, March 2, 1987.
