Cusack moves north

The young BurnsideWest University first grade opening batsman, Darin Cusack, is looking to establish his cricketing career with. Northern Districts. Cusack, aged 21, will leave today for Tauranga and the Mount Maunganui club. He said that the move was on a permanent rather than temporary basis. Cusack, a Canterbury representative through the schoolboy and junior levels and a Canterbury B player two seasons ago, felt aggrieved at being overlooked for the Canterbury squad this season. “I would be lying if I said that I was not very disappointed,” he said last evening. The promising righthanded batsman, who has benefited from a season in English county cricket with Northamptonshire, said that the decision to shift was “basically to have a change of cricket scenery.”
