Netballers draw weaker pool
NZPA-AAP Sydney New Zealand has drawn the weaker of two pools for the world netball tournament in Glasgow next August. The New Zealanders’ main opponents, Australia, Trinidad-Tobago and Jamaica, will meet in Pool 1 of the championships while the Kiwis will face England in Pool 2. In spite of its difficult draw, Australia has
firmed to favourite for the seventh world tournament and, if successful, will have won an unprecedented six world titles from seven attempts. The draw is: Section 1: Australia, Trini-dad-Tobago, Jamaica, Northern Ireland, Canada, St Vincent, Fiji, Papua New Guinea. Section 2: New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales, Bermuda, Cook Islands, India, Republic of Ireland.
