Burglar wields knife

A Waltham Road pensioner flat was broken into and the occupants threatened with a knife last evening. The intruder, described as a male Maori or partMaori in his late teens, entered the flat about 9.40 p.m., brandishing a knife. He tied up the male occupant. The woman occupant suffered a minor cut to a hand. The intruder stole a small amount of property, and cash. He left the premises about 10 p.m. He is thought to be aged between 17 and 20, of slim build, and about 170 cm to 175 cm (sft 7in to sft 9in) tall. He was wearing a dark top and light-coloured trousers. The police ask anyone who saw anything suspicious to tell the C. 1.8.
