Leeston’s exchange for tender
Wellington reporter Tenders are being called for a new telephone exchange building at Leeston. The 102 sq m concrete block building will be constructed on a Station Road site. It will enable the installation of stored programme controlled (S.P.C.) switching equipment to improve the service to Leeston subscribers. The Postmaster-Gen-eral, Mr Hunt, said the old exchange was now at full capacity.
