Relic with a long history
NZPA-AFP New Delhi Indian scientists have found a 135 million-year-old to 180 million-year-old relic of a rare micromammal, reports said. They say the discovery may help study on the evolution of mammals from reptiles. The micromammal is called “kotatherium hadenii” and belongs to the Jurassic era, Press Trust of India (P.T.1.) said in a dispatch from Bangalore, The Government Geological Survey publication said the relic was discovered in the Pranhita-Go-davari valley of the Andhra Pradesh state on the south-eastern Bay of Bengal coast.
